Code of Conduct
XXIst Serbian Astronomical Conference adheres to the IAU anti-harassment policy. The mission of the International Astronomical Union (IAU) is to promote and safeguard astronomy in all its aspects (including research, communication, education, and development) through international cooperation. As members of IAU, scientists of all backgrounds work together to advance astronomical research.
We are committed to making every effort at this conference to avoid harassment, regardless of gender, sexual orientation, disability, age, physical appearance, body size, race, nationality, or religion. We value the participation of every member of the scientific community attending XXIst Serbian Astronomical Conference and want all attendees to have an enjoyable and fulfilling experience showing respect and courtesy to others. Please follow these guidelines:
- Behave professionally and respect others. Harassment, including sexist, racist, or exclusionary behavior, is unacceptable. It includes sustained disruption of events, inappropriate physical contact, sexual attention or innuendo, intimidation, stalking, and unauthorized photography or recording.
- Offensive comments related to gender, sexual orientation, disability, physical appearance, body size, race, or religion are considered harassment, including verbal and email communications.
- All communication should be suitable for a professional audience of diverse backgrounds. Sexual language and imagery are not appropriate.
- Be kind and avoid insulting or belittling others attending the event. Respectful behavior is expected at all times.
- This code of conduct applies to all conference spaces, including Zoom. We will not tolerate harassment of participants in any form.
- Attendees violating these rules may be asked to leave the event at the sole discretion of the organizers without a refund of any charge.
